Mini-Portofolio

Hi there, my name is Jonathan Apilado and it's my fourth year at San Jose State as an Animation/Illustration major. I enjoy learning about how things work and science has always been one of my favorite subjects in school. As a result, I remember some of the simple topics like the Doppler effect. But one of the coolest things I've come to learn is that anything can be relevant to what we do in the animation/illustration field. Anything from cooking to astronomy to dance. Learning is always so cool, and this class has me really stoked. :)

#1
'Hero Tree' ideations and final graphite drawing.

#2
Some traditional and digital paintings from photos and imagination.

#3
I love sketchbooks and drawing in sketchbook. ^^ It's like putting your thoughts in a book.

#4
Some recent paintings I've done in Photoshop. The two on the left are from life and took around 3-4 hours each, and the right is from a photo I took in San Francisco. :)

114 Final: Sack Pantomime
I didn't finish the film, but it was fun making. It also has sound which was half the fun. :)

This just became semi-available to the public, but only through links. I posted this video because I love the short film and it kept me in tears through 80% of the time. And it has multiple kinds of falling! Though with air resistance ;)  haha It tells a story simply and beautifully, the reason I stay in the major. ^^

I'm really excited for the semester, and I hope it goes well. :)
